I really wanted an elliptical that has had a long step from a person using it is pretty tall (6'7 ") and also weighs over 250 pounds. This machine The Schwinn 460 seemed perfect and I really wanted to like. That said, this car is no longer what I was expecting.
I'd like a machine where I could control the pace set by a computer panel, but the way its set up just depends on how you pedal, which can lead to a lot of idiots embarrassing when you're doing any kind of circuit training and adjusting to changes in resistance. It feels almost as if the rebound springs.
One reason I like the elliptical is that I tend to have knee problems from time to time, the elliptical shape and is usually easy on the knees, but due to the odd variable pitch mechanism which are usually throbbing in my knees a workout.
The car is bigger than I expected and quite high. Get off and the car feels like you're going up and down swing huge step. I am putting both feet on one side and then holding the handles, while downhill. Also, I do not feel particularly stable. It states that it can support the weight up to 300 pounds, but so far 4 people have used the machine, even a person who weighs only 105 pounds and the car actually tilted to one side and almost fell on her when her highest rate of about 60 rpm, which is not even considered to be exceptionally fast. I set the machine to level 6 or higher to modulate my speed and I find something faster than 55 rpm is unstable. I am sincerely worried that the car will fall and crush me sometimes when I'm using.
Honestly, I would return this machine if it were not such a bother to dismantle and transport it.
I had the car for about 2 weeks, I used every day. I feel as if its instability can still get a decent workout as long as I keep things slow and steady or use it as a stepper. She seems much more difficult than other ellipticals I have used, but that could be because of variable pitch. There is no way I could ever do something like that to run on this thing, unless it is bolted to the floor. Moreover, as other reviewers said, there is no arm strength that I still believe that I am very sorry, but it seems a waste to have these two poles oscillates attachment if you can not really use them.
The Schwinn 460 itself looks nice, does not seem cheap, like some other exercise machine The Schwinn 460 that I saw. I like the various settings and the simple computer interface. I like the tip of Nice appears while you are working on how to use weapons, drinking water or to go faster. I still think its worth $ 899 decent. If I had to do it again I would not buy it, but now that I have I am willing to stick through it and only get the best coaches that I can. I have also my fault for buying something like this based solely on reviews without actually test it in a store. I think in the future if I plan to buy all the main pieces of exercise equipment I just need to not be lazy and try different models before making my decision.
